Some of the kitchen studios near me are so fantastic to look around.  The assistants don’t rush over to try and bag a quick sale, they can tell when someone is seriously shopping and when they’re just daydreaming.   To plan a new kitchen is very involved these days.  Well it has probably always been very involved but before, the builder or contractor would do all the measuring up and then go and make something to suit.  There was not much expectation of anything too fancy, just a few cupboards up high and below with a worktop in place.    These days we have to consider the lighting aspect;  where the units are going to go for photographic point of view as just about everybody has to get the pics of the new kitchen posted on instagram!  exactly the right colour cabinets can be obtained, at a premium.  In fact there is a company near me who makes a fantastic living out of respraying cabinet doors and plinths to whatever shade of wood paint or treatment that you could imagine.  I have seen what used to be a pine oak kitchen set transformed into a cream upper and gorgeously silky dark blue for the bottom halves.  Each item has been striiped and treated before a generous finish making it look silky smooth matt.
